Getting AroundBy Bus
As the Dolmuþ is so popular it is often busy, it is common practise for younger travellers to give up their seats to elder passengers, and for men to give up their seat to women, if you are travelling with young children it is often expected that they sit on the parents lap as the bus begins to fill. Dalyan has a regular Dolmuþ service to Ortaca and the public beach. From Ortaca there are regular Dolmuþ services to all the nearby towns as well as regular bus services to other major towns both locally and nationally. Currently the one-way fare from Dalyan to Ortaca is around 1.50YTL (around 50 pence) which is paid directly to the driver, it is common for travellers in the rear to pass their fare down the bus towards the driver. Hire CarIf you plan to make a number of journeys around the area you may wish to make use of a hire car. Some of the local firms can be found here. Fuel prices are slightly higher in Turkey than the UK, further as road and driving conditions are not to the same UK standard consumption may also be higher than you are used to, please take this into account when making your plans. Cycling and WalkingThe natural surroundings of Dalyan are ideal for cycling and walking, simply for the scenery alone a bike ride or trek can take the breath away. Despite the mountainous surroundings there is still plenty of flat land with stunning views for those without the sheer leg power to tackle the hills. For those fit enough the cycle to Iztuzu beach or the walk to Ekincik Bay will be truly rewarding. |

A popular form of transport in Turkey is the Dolmu
There are a number of Taxi firms in Dalyan and all offer a cheap and reliable service. For long trips it is common to agree a price before the journey is undertaken. Taxi's are easily found as they are painted bright yellow and carry a Taxi sign on the roof.
